Which schools have a good sports medicine program? Includes good research/internship opportunities. Thanks!

my friend is doing something related to that at wake forest next year. it might be physical therapy or something though. but yeah that’s a good school, obviously.

Heh yea I know Wake Forest is a good school. Though is their program good?

What do you mean by sports medicine? A true sports medicine specialist is an MD who then completes an orthopaedic residency, then maybe a sports medicine fellowship.

Athletic Training is a BA/BS degree, with MA/MS degrees also available. You can graduate with a BS in Exercise Science and then get a DPT in physical therapy and specialize in sports injury rehab.

What degree/track are you interested in??

I’m planning on going to either podiatry school and then do a fellowship in sports medicine after residency or (more likely) go to med school, complete a residency in orthopedic surgery or family medicine, then a fellowship in sports medicine. I looked at the University of Michigan and Pepperdine programs, looked interesting.

Anyone have any advice/info?
