Good short hikes near Williams College

Hi. My family loves to go on short day hikes. I attended Williams back in my pre-hiking days (I considered the walk from Garfield to Griffin long!), so I am not familiar with the local options. I am taking my son to see Williams during April break, and I think my family might enjoy a short hike while we are there. (I do mean short-- like 30 minutes to 2 hours. We are visiting six colleges that week (!), although we will be in Williamstown from mid-afternoon on Thursday until early Friday afternoon.). Any suggestions for a short, pretty hike? (Note: Mt. Greylock appears to be still closed for the season.)

@marvin100? @momrath? @Ephman? @tim322? @mythmom? Anyone familiar with the area?

A couple of short, easy going hikes that we enjoyed in Williamstown were the Pine Cobble Trail and the Stone Hill Trail behind the Clark Museum. They were both quite scenic in the Fall. Don’t know about April though.

Contact the Williams Outdoor Club while you are there–they will give you lots of ideas, and perhaps a guide as well!
