@kdawg1212 can you lmk the details in dm as well pls? somehow im not able to private message…
I cant seem to dm either but I just wanted to know if you’re willing to share more specifics about the questions asked for the People Op position
I spoke a little about that on page 13 post #191 on this thread. Let me know if that helps or if more is needed. @oswfyo
@msmc101 did you apply to North America as well or just Toronto? cus i applied to both and not sure how the application will be processed
@bets19 @abcjen I applied to both. In the North America app, I received the “hang tight” after the supplemental form. I then decided to apply to the Toronto BOLD and instantly got the interview. I have no idea what this does to my other application though
@@@ anyone who’s had an interview- did you get asked any questions on B2B marketing? Or other general marketing terms I should be aware of?
@msmc101 From what I’ve seen so far, none of the people who have gotten interviews here have done it for marketing yet, but I could be wrong, so anyone feel free to correct me if you have.
Also, as someone with a fairly solid background in marketing, I’d like to give you a bit of advice. In regards to B2B marketing, I would strongly discourage looking at it like it’s just some term. B2B marketing is an entire sub-branch of marketing and comes with its own methodologies, all of which differ quite a lot with traditional B2C marketing that you’d find in an intro to marketing class.
For people who have had interviews, did they last the full 45 minutes?
Only people who had referrals had interviews so far, right?
@cec373 I didn’t have a referral
I got an interview offer!
Congrats @HeadsInTheClouds! What position are you interviewing for??
Thank you! The role is in Google’s communications department.
Has anyone had a Human Resources Specialist at Google view your LinkedIn profile? I just received a notification for one and it’s giving me anxiety especially because I cannot see who it is since I do not have premium.
@msmc101 You got an interview for BOLD in America?
Wait, so has no one who applied for marketing position heard back about interviews?
@jsp283 Not that I’ve seen yet. However, I think everyone who has gotten an interview, including @HeadInTheClouds , had a referral. (Also, I think they were in the first batch of applicants as well.)
@astr0nomical Wait, did it say they were from Google specifically or was it just “someone who worked in HR”? Also, if you haven’t tried the LinkedIn Premium trial yet, you could always do that an unlock it for free.
It’s important to remember that this early in the process only a small amount of departments have declared it needs interns. More departments confirm they need interns closer to January or February. That’s why team matching has been so slow. It’s not you, it’s Google. I hope this takes some anxiety off your shoulders.
When I found out that was the case I was relieved. Keep ya head up and remember to actively be networking and talking to people you may want to work with (Googlers)!
Im pretty sure a google recruiter viewed my linkedin profile sometime this past week, but I haven’t received any updates… is this a bad sign??
