Google CSS1 2018

@coderxoxo123 I’m heading to a residential

we have applied for the camp from San Jose and have not yet heard back, it still shows under review.

Hi I’ve been following this thread for a while but just decided to join in right now. Haven’t heard back yet and am very anxious. Hard to make other summer plans and I don’t even mind getting rejected, just want to hear back soon for closure and so I can plan other stuff! Anyways for those hearing back from residential programs, are they all Pittsburgh? I’m assuming the waves of responses are location/office based, from the responses I’ve heard (with the exception of scholarship winners) and am wondering if Seattle and Cambridge have yet to reply back…?

@GinaVal In the slack chat, there are several non-scholarship applicants who have already heard back from residential for Seattle, Kirkland, and Cambridge

My son heard back last Thursday for the Cambridge location. He was declined for scholarship but did get CSSI. People had to respond by end of day today so I imagine there will be more communication coming tomorrow for those who have not heard back yet.

@whataloss.

Do you see non scholarship ones from Austin region? We cannot figure out if these are all sent out or pending!

Congratulations!

@clemsongrad I’ve only seen one non scholarship for Austin… hopefully that means there will be more soon

@whataloss good to know. Thank you

@whataloss Thank you for that glimmer of hope!. Appreciate your help.

hey y’all i won the scholarship and also will be attending the residential session in Seattle (lol even though i live like an hour and 45min away from Mountain View) if anyone got accepted into Seattle too or just wanna ask questions about the program, dm me on either twitter or Instagram @kayleytbh

If I haven’t heard back from them as yet is it possible I was rejected?

@coderxoxo123 my understanding is rejections are not sent out. My son is in the same situation. We are thinking that we perhaps did not make it.

Yeah I think I’ve pretty much given up at this point. Best case scenario maybe they’ll add me on a waitlist. Which is fine because like a lot of others who’ve been rejected I already have an adequate amount of knowledge on Java, Html and CSS so I’m glad the spots are going to those who unfortunately didn’t have a CS class at their high school, especially since I imagine a lot of you are interested in majoring in the field. I definitely hope to hear back about your guys’ experience though cause the program sounds like so much fun!

@whataloss cambridge

Just got into Atlanta session off the waitlist! I only applied to CSSI and not the scholarship.

@yellowjacket22 congrats!!

@yellowjacket22 Congrats on the acceptance to CSSI!!

If we haven’t heard back from CSSI yet, is it safe to assume that we’ve been rejected?

I just emailed them and asked if it’s safe to assume that having not heard back means a rejection. It says in the FAQ that those who are accepted will be contacted from mid to late April, which is either poorly worded or implies that no contact means a rejection.

Just got a reply: “We will communicate all decisions on CSSI 2018 by mid-May via email.” So I guess that means another two week waiting game haha. Congrats to all that have been accepted :slight_smile:
