Got rejected

I knew there’s a lot accepted from bc and really cong to all of them, and those got deferred, you guys still have a chance. But me, I have to re-consider the school list and REALLY REALLY upset because BC is one of my dream school, I thought it’s better to be deferred as I still have the chance to continue…sigh…Before receiving the decision(via e-mail), I thought BU just a safety school for me and didn’t want to write the “why Bu” essay. Everything is totally different now…

I don’t know what else schools can i apply and i still can’t accept the fact…just kind of complain…
anyway, congratulation to those accepted =)

Dear annafang993 : Based on your profile name, we are assuming that English is not your native language. Your posting here, while likely written in an emotional state of mind, contains numerous grammatical and usage errors. My fear is that your essay for Boston College might have contained similar problems. If your English skills are lacking in the essay, the readers will virtually automatically toss your application (rejection). Given Boston College’s strong liberal arts core curriculum, it is possible that the volume of required writing might have been seen as beyond your current skills.

Now, what is your next step? Please be sure to have your “Why BU?” essay carefully reviewed by a local guidance counselor or English teacher. Making sure that the grammar is proper should be your next course of action.

What about her profile name suggests English is not her native language…???

Dear NRG21B : Given the name (“Anna Fang”) and writing style, it would appear likely that the original poster is of Chinese descent. Linguistically, the improper usage of state occurs often in Chinese to English translations as verb conjugation between the two languages is radically different.
