"(can even go off campus, which is unique among gov schools). "
actually, i think it would be unique not to be able to...all the pa ones i know of you can..not that that's relevant to anything : )

My S just returned from NJ Gov School of the Arts. He had a fantastic month and enjoyed meeting a diverse group of very creative kids. He was there for instrumental music but became friendly with visual arts, theatre, and creative writing kids. TCNJ has a gorgeous campus but there is little to do in the surrounding area off campus. We attended several terrific concerts and the final Arts Festival. It was a very positive experience and I highly recommend it if your school nominates you. My eldest S attended Gov School of Science at Drew awhile ago and enjoyed the program there. There the kids were able to do things on their own off campus (even take the train to Morristown for movies).
He returns now to speak to current participants about his college and science experiences.

What does your son play?
Our son (tuba) attended GSArts two summers ago. He and his group went down to catch the final Arts Festival this year and enjoyed it immensely.
