Hello everyone,
This may be silly, but I do not exactly understand by what universities call a ‘cut-off GPA.’
I am aware that it is used to determine your chances of being admitted into a school, but by ‘cut-off’ does it mean whatever the GPA may be is the lowest they will accept or is it the starting GPA?
I know, sounds confusing but anything will help.
Thank you!
When universities state that you must have a “minimum of a 2.0, 3.0, etc.” this means that in order to be considered for admission, you must have that GPA or above. Anything below this, and you’re instantly screened out of the admissions process.
It does not determine your chances for admission. Just because you meet the minimum GPA requirements DOES NOT mean you’ll get accepted. It simply means they’re going to look at you.
@TransferStalker this makes sense and was helpful, thank you so much for your help!!!
No problem, best of luck! If you have any other questions concerning transferring, don’t hesitate to personally message me.
