I transferred from a community school after getting my AA to USF. I had a semester from around 15 years ago that dragged my GPA down to a 2.9. Since then I’ve raised my my overall to a 3.03 and my GPA at USF is around a 3.6 with a 3.75 in my major and the same in my minor , by the time I graduate my overall should be around a 3.3-3.4 and my GPA at USF should be around a 3.8 . I’m planing on applying to Law School at U of W and others , I’m wondering if my USF GPA will be taken more into consideration and if it will be competitive. I should mention I suffered a ruptured hernia and two minor heart attacks that left me homeless for the last two semesters of my AA and the first two semesters of my BA , I’ve had around a 3.6-3.7 during that time span , or it would most likely be higher .
This should probably be posted in the Law Section under Graduate Schools. I assume USF = University of San Francisco, not Univ. of South Florida. I believe your grades at USF would be more important than from the community college. Your LSAT score will be a very important component whether you get in or not. UW is a top 30 to 40 law school and the law school will be more difficult to get into than say USF Law.
It is VERY important to tell them your story of illness and homelessness in your application, as that obviously displays your grit and tenacity at setting and meeting goals despite major setbacks.
@Zoo1777 The mid 50% for UW Law school in 2018 is 3.44-3.80. I strong LSAT would help out considerably.
