My cumulative weighted GPA for the last two years (I will be a junior this year) is 3.75. This is an A- average in high classes, this year I will be taking two AP classes so I am confident that I can raise it up. I was wondering how much emphasis is placed on your first two years of high school, will I still be able to make a come back and show that I am committed in my junior and senior year?

Yes you can. Grades matter the most Sophmore and junior year. Maybe you can take 3 AP classes instead of 2 if you want to be competitive in college admissions.

a 3.75! Wow, you're never going to make it!

How is that a bad start? If I were you i'd be more concerned with racking up EC's and making sure your class rank is highish AND that you take some of the highest level classes your school offers. If you do all that and graduate with a 3.75 you will be competitive with most of the 4.0's out there. Don't forget about the SAT/ACT also - GPA is important but you don't want to have a 3.9 with a 1150 sat ....

People who have 4.0s and 1100 SATs should be bound and gagged.

Well it depends if your school has unweighted or weighted GPA.. remember that... And if you get a 1100 SAT and have 4.0 GPA that just proves that school is usually garbage or the classes that person took were stuff like intro to art(AP Art is hard but intro is easy.. come on) and regulars all your high school yr...
