Gpa?

In my high school, we are on a system of number grades rather than letter grades. Also, the administration says that all classes in my school are honors/AP courses (as I go to a catholic school that is able to admit or deny applicants) so no one is able to have a weighted average. If I have a 98 (unweighted) average that I earned by getting grades that constitute an A in all my courses (which, again, are supposed to be all Honors/AP level but are not titled as such), would I have a 3.8, 4.0, 4.8, or 5.0 GPA?

4.0 unweighted. Most likely an AP class would be titled as so because you take the exam at the end of the year. Honors weighted usually gives you a +.33 if you have an A. So you have a 4.33 weighted. How many classes do you have and how many classes will you take an AP exam for?

@hailbo thanks for the response! I honestly don’t know whether I am offered AP or Honors because we just refer to them as classes. All I know is that I take the highest level classes available to me in all 7 of my courses (we don’t have off periods so everyone takes 7) As for AP exams, I don’t have to take them nor are they offered to me. My school has their own testing system called trimester and comprehensive exams.

Wow, hard to say then, most schools give the 5.0 for having all AP Classes but then you school is different. It’s hard to judge if colleges or other places will see your classes just as rigorous. You would definitely have a 5.0 but I’m not sure If other institutions would see it as the same. Most places will see your weighted grades as a 4.33 as they are honors but not exactly AP classes where you take the AP exam.
