How can you judge a person's weighted GPA? I've noticed that some people in this forum have like a 5.0 GPA, which is impossible at my school because even if one does manage to get the time to take all the AP's the highest you can get is around a 4.4

the highest you can get in my school is about a 4.05 with straight A's

You have a good point, but also keep in mind that a chemistry class from the #1 school in the nation gets the same 4.0 that the chemistry class from a below-average school. It's all relative, and colleges will see that.

From what I understand there is a crucial part of most GC Recs that has the checkmarks for:
This student took THE MOST Rigorous courses, Challenging courses, or Average courses

This might end up telling what the GPA really means.

My local public h.s. gives out 4.75 credit for some honors courses, yet the quality of the curriculum doesn't match up with our 4.5 credit honors courses at my school. Sounds like an injustice, yes, but once again, it's all relative...

people on this site LIE

well...thats why guidance counselors write how hard your school is. admission officers usually know how hard schools are
