Hi all,
How does a grad degree and your graduate gpa factor into law school admission decisions?
Not at all.
Some websites say they consider it @Demosthenes49, but I am quite skeptical of that claim.
Websites say a lot of things. Your graduate work doesn’t get factored into your LSAC GPA, which is the only GPA they care about. Even if it’s a school like Yale that cares about softs, a graduate degree is rarely unique enough to qualify.
It might boost your application a little bit, but your GPA and LSAT scores will be what really counts. Lots of the tippy-tip law schools have relatively large percentages of people with graduate degrees, though, so I’d imagine that it means a little something.
