Grad school after Applied Physics B.S. degree

I am ignorant of grad school and how it works, so hopefully someone here can help clear this up.

If I go to CSUSM and get an Applied Physics B.S. degree, can I go to grad school for an engineering masters degree? On another note, could I go to grad school and get a degree in something theoretical having done an Applied Physics degree?

What is the difference if I were to go through an engineering program for my B.S.? Is there any at all in terms of hiring? Would I be hired as an Applied Physics position or can I get the job title of an engineer?

Thank you.

If your goal is get an MS in engineering or if you want to work as an engineer, why not major in engineering. Some schools have engineering physic which seems like a perfect fit for you. It is pretty much a mix of any engineering of your choice with physics

I would love to, but my first year of college was not outstanding so my GPA is 2.77. I go to Palomar College, so it will be easier to transfer to CSUSM than other CSU schools.
