Grad school for biomedical engineering

I just signed up for this portal and I am kind of more lost. All the posts about Top colleges like MIT,princeton, stanford. Subtly one feeling is better to realise even students accepted for such colleges have “confusions” of their own Level.:). While I have recently completed my UG from an Indian college in electronics and communication engineering, I now want to go for m.s in biomedical engineering(with courses not so deeply focused into chemical engineering part of it). I need reach (or let’s say safe colleges) for m.s which provide substantial fellowship(for international students is the important thing to be considered). If GPA,gre and TOEFL are Criteria here is what I have:
GPA-9.54/10
Gre-316(163q,153v)
Toefl-109

I know college research is daunting as well as personal task. But all the list I make eventually seems to be not appropriate. So let me hear from you!
Thank you in advance

I am a Georgia Tech and Case Western Reserve U parent of undergraduates, and an Educational Counselor at MIT. You do not say if you goal is a masters or a PhD degree, and that is important for whether you can get financial aid in the USA. Most PhD programs are funded in engineering in the USA. Many masters programs require that you pay cash or take a loan, but depends on the program and the school.

I happen to know about the medical electronics masters degree at GT. I think it is very strong if you are interested in design of medical equipment.
Also know that Georgia Tech is very well tied to Emory Medical School in Atlanta. I agree with you that some biomedical programs are very chemical/DNA oriented and others can be mechanical and electrical engineering oriented. Study websites carefully and email professors at all of your schools to learn more. Look at the course requirements of each program to pick a good program. As far as financial aid, I understand that you may be able to get a TA at Georgia Tech, but ask the department directly in an email to the department head, and ask him to forward that to the financial person in Biomedical engineering, if you cannot find that on line. I am not familiar with the scores you list so I cannot help you on chances. Just apply to five or six programs and hope for the best! Good luck.

@Subash33. Since you posted a while ago, I thought I would ping you. See post above. GRE scores, you can look that up, what the averages are for each college of interest. GRE has changed the top scores since I took the exam, so not familiar with score ranges today. I think with TOEFL its the same, you can look that up per school, what the mean and range of scores they accept.
