Grad School Timeline Issues

Hi, I'm an undergraduate right now majoring in neuroscience. Very confident that grad school is the path I want to go, specifically doctoral programs in biomedical science, neuroscience, or biophysics.

I looked at the program sites for many schools esp. the public ones in my state (OH), and they all generally require fall enrollment, with application deadlines in the preceding winter. Obviously, an "earned bachelor's degree" is a requirement for these programs, is it normal for students to apply one semester short of graduation? Or should I expect to have to wait until the following year when I actually have been awarded a bachelors degree?

When you applied for undergrad, you were required to have your HS diploma before starting. It’s the same deal. Generally they’ll ask for some proof of completion either over the summer or during your first term in the fall.

Thank you.
