Grade Defaltion and Inflation

How do you know whether your school has deflated or inflated grades?

If the top 5% of your class / school has poor SAT scores = inflation.

Deflation? I guess if there are harsh curves / grading scales

so would my school be grade inflated?
1/3 get A grades (that means including A/A+, school profile does not distinguish), 1/3 get Bs, the rest get Cs and Ds and Fs. And our SAT averages are about 200 points above national average, I think? The saddest thing was that our school's average for the SAT math IIC was a 720.

so this goes with AP classes also?
Because a bunch of our AP classes, only like 2 or 3 kids pass and there were a bunch of As in the classes.

Thats another sign. People who take AP classes but utterly fail the exam - or decide not to take it.

yeah, i tell kids that but they still think that they are going ti harvard
