<p>Can any Smeal student tell me whether there is grade deflation or grade inflation?</p>
<p>Of what about Penn State in general? What's it's reputation as far as grades are concerned? Do students have to work extra extra hard to get an A?</p>

<p>Sorry this may not be too helpful, but it's something. Recently attended Smeal graduation, for my nephew. Graduating officially "with distinction" were top 12% of class, gpa-wise. That cutoff was 3.71. </p>
<p>Nephew just missed distinction, and didn't kill himself workwise, I know for a fact. He did love the school and was sad to leave.</p>
<p>Does anyone know about the other colleges such as engineering?</p>
