Grade inflation at U MD College Park

One issue I cannot find an answer to is grade inflation. Are the number of A's limited? Is it any different in the University Honors Program?
I have heard that in some schools with a high achieving student body, the profs limit the number of high grades, while at other schools, where most of the students in any given class are accustomed to getting all A's all the time, high grades are common.

i hope high grades are common. i'm trying to go to med school and GPA matters a lot from what I hear.
But I've heard the same thing about top schools giving out only limited amount of As.

it's totally up to the professors. SOme give out straight grades like 90% is A 80% is B some curve and give like the top 20% of the class A, the next 30% B or so...

The business school is grade inflated like no other.

How about engineering?

I haven't had any kind of grade altering and I am almost done with my first year. They give out -/+'s but they don't mean anything for your common GPA. I got a 4.0 first semester with 2 A-'s

engineering has all ranges of grades from 4.0 to 1.0
but generally, grades are curved in science + engineering courses b/c there's no way anyone can get 90% in those classes. I mean there are people but it would be like 1 / 100 in the class.
