is there any grade inflation at amherst? is there a lot, if any?

there's definitely grade inflation, though I don't know how much.

It depends on the course. Generally, Amherst has low grade inflation, contrary to the Ivies. I feel like I've earned my grades here, though I've not been disappointed with one yet. However, I do know people who thought they weren't even going to make it out of Freshman Seminar, though I thought my seminar was generally easy - by that, I mean not stressful - because the only grades were 4 papers. I doubt if anyone in my seminar got an A.

Basically, after all of my rambling, to sum up, you earn your grades here; they are not given to you.

I was in that same seminar, and I thought it was hardcore. I wish there were grade inflation... like at Harvard... at Amherst you can with reasonable effort get an A-, which is a 3.7, but getting anything higher is pretty hard.

You're not spoonfed anything, and what you put into your work is what you get out of it, in grades.

Does college GPA matter very much when apply to Graduate School?
