GRADES vs. SAT SCORES

would you say my grades and sat scores reflect eachother well? like obviously someone with a 2.0 gpa and 1500 sat score is most likely a slacker...or someone with a 4.0 and 1100 is probably an extremely poor test taker...what would you say for me?

my gpa
weighted- 4.26
unweighed- 3.8
total: 8 regular/8 honors/ 4 AP classes
3 Bs all of highschool, the rest As
i took too many regular classes because my school REQUIRES you have 600 on psats...teacher reccs...and all As in the subject to take honors/AP...this is why my class rank is relatively low 33/256...(too many regs and i didnt know they would weight me down sooo much)

now for the sat scores
a total of 2070 (possibly retaking in december)
math- 760
verbal- 620
writing- 690
sat2s
math ic-730
biology(still waiting for results)

doesnt say anything necessarily. maybe you are a hard worker because of your high grades in comparison to "aptitude" but the numbers arent so far out of line of each other

what do you mean by aptitude?

thats what the SAT tests. I think it tests a combination of what you've learned and how "smart" you are or is at least a reflection on your intellectual ability. at least thats what they want it to test. Not sure if they changed the wording from Scholastic Aptitude Test to Assesment, as a low score on an aptitude test might make people upset, not pc etc

oh i understand, do you think my sat scores are fairly low, i dont really know what to think i know both sides...people with 1000 scores as well as those with high 1500s

Your SAT Scores are excellent. They are similar to the scores of both of my sisters. One is a doctor now at a top hospital and the other won so much academic recognition in college, I've never seen anything comparable.

thanks! its just hard these days with SO much competition

you have a good GPA and some good test scores... don't worry ^_^
