I’m a 7th grader applying to several boarding schools next year (PEA, PAA, SPS, Hotchkiss, Choate). Can any alum of these schools tell me if grades from 6th grade are important to admissions for 9th grade?
They are important, but less important than 7th and less important than your first half of 8th grade. They are most focused on consistent performance or if there are any particular issues, or if there is something inconsistent with SSAT scores. If there’s one outlier class in 6th grade, don’t worry about it.
