<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I've heard different accounts from people about how classes are graded here, and how the curve is supposed to hurt you since it's on a bell curve?</p>

<p>Take a hypothetical example of MCB 102 where the mean is around a B-. The average grade in the class is a 57 (uncurved). If my grade in the class is a 71, should I be expecting something around a B+ A- or A? </p>

<p>Or is this wishful thinking and will my grade be curved? What is the average curved to then?</p>

<p>It depends on what your prof decides to curve the average to, and it then depends on the std deviation. A larger SD means you need to to get higher to get above the “average” grade.</p>
