hey, I am an Environmental Engineer major. I am thinking about going on to getting my Masters in my field. So i was wondering what are the requirements in getting into grad school. the basic requirements and and what would stand out and give me the best chances. thank you
A very good initial resource would be the Environmental Engineering department at your own school. If they offer a master’s degree, the requirements for admission will be on their website. Also, there is more than likely a graduate coordinator employed by your department or the college of engineering at your school. Set up an appointment with them if you get confused by anything you read on their website.
Most likely, you will have to take the GRE, submit letters of recommendation, write a statement of purpose and a resume.
“I am thinking about going on to getting my Masters in my field” Why? Many engineering career paths do not require a masters. Be honest with yourself – are you more comfortable in the campus setting vs. the labor workforce?
That might be a more important question to answer.
