Graduate school HELP!

Hello CC!

I’ll soon be an undergraduate freshman and I plan to double-major in computer science and economics. I am pretty interested in graduate school. Does anyone know what master’s degree I can get with this? What are some popular graduate school choices for these degrees? What kind of job can I get after this? Please share your experience!

Thank you!

It’s a little premature for you to start thinking about what kind of graduate school you want. Graduate school is used to prepare for some kind of professional career, so the master’s that you get will depend on the kind of career that you want, not the other way around. For example, if you decided you wanted to be an economist at a think tank or government agency, you might decide to get an MA in economics. But if you wanted to be a program manager at a tech company, you might not get any graduate degree at all, or you might earn an MS in computer science after working for a few years.

That said, there are a lot of different kinds of master’s degree you could get with that combination. So it’ll all depend on your career goals.
