graduating a semester early out of highschool. help appreciated!

hi, i am graduating in december and will be going into college in the spring of 2012. I was wondering if the applicant pool for that semester is easier or harder? Also, I was wondering if schools still offer the 6 year medical programs for students applying to the spring of 2012 semester. Thanks!

The 6yr BA/MD programs are quite structured. I doubt a single one accepts spring semester Freshmen – nor do most top private colleges.

You understand that most applicants to top colleges, if they wanted, could graduate early, right? By choosing that route, you’re not distinguishing yourself unless you have some remarkable activity planned (and I don’t mean getting into college early).

Is the applicant pool easier? Sure is. Because no top schools have Spring enrollment. You’ll only be able to apply to 2nd tier or lower schools. You’ll be a shoo in it seems. But that’s not your target college group, now is it?

Re think graduating early, I’d suggest. You’re better off applying to colleges with Fall 2012 enrollment if you truly want a spot in a selective college.

Is there any particular reason why you want to start college in January 2012? If you want/need to graduate early, it would be perfectly fine to take a “Gap Semester” and plan to enroll in the fall of 2012.
