Hello, I am an applicate for W&M for Early Decision II. I am a senior, and I will be graduating a semester early. How does W&M view graduating early? I have heard here and there that some colleges don’t like when people graduate early, but I’m not completely sure, since there isn’t much info on it online. I am afraid that W&M might view it very negatively and that it may hurt my chances. If it makes any difference, I am in the top 5% of my class (3.88 UW GPA) and I plan on doing duel enrollment classes at my local community college during my break. I’m also going to work and serve as a Page in the NC House Legislature. I posted my stats recently if you want a more in depth look at my high school career. I appreciate any info you could give me on this subject. Thanks
Graduating a semester early should not have an adverse affect on your college applications so long as the admissions office staff understands that you will be graduating early. Communication is the key in these situations.
I agree that they won’t mind but would like to know. They would probably be interested in how you plan to spend the half-a-gap-year.
