thanks for the advices guys, i’ll look into the military route, i talked to the campus recruiter for army corp of engineers for their internship position but didn’t get it, is that the same as the military officer type you guys are talking about?

You were probably applying for a civilian position. I believe they’re talking about actually joining the army as an officer (going through Officer Candidate School). Perhaps something like this: http://www.goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/browse-career-and-job-categories/construction-engineering/engineer-officer.html

I’ve been considering officer school too.

My good friend is now a O2 with US Army, he’s a sapper. He’s planning to go to business school (he owns a home at 26 in VA, no loans, extremely fit).

Why officer school? They pay for your education. It looks extremely good on the resume (provided you don’t get a dishonorable discharge).

It’ll be hell for a bit but you get use to it.

I believe Sakky was talking about HBS is pretty much M people (Mormon and Military).

Take it with a grain of salt: I relocated to Honolulu, HI where military presence is known and I work with a bunch of military as a contractor. My gym is pretty much all military (Crossfit Oahu).

is officer school similar to gradschool (as in you pay for it)? i been considering it for a while but haven’t looked into the details too much yet

No. You just need to pay for uniform, equipment, etc. I’m not too familiar with the details, but I’ve heard they pay you as a private while you’re doing basic combat training, and as a sergeant when you’re in OCS.
