I am wondering if anyone knows why the 4 year graduation rate is only 58% (per The Princeton Rebiew). Seems low for an expensive private school. My daughter really wants to attend a Chapman and it’s a good fit for her, but that graduation rate bothers me. I’d appreciate any feedback.
Chapman has very flexible stop out and re-enroll policies which allow students to take advantage of internships and work opportunities (especially in the arts and entertainment fields), as well as religious related missions and other opportunities and obligations that arise.
The graduation rates are:
in 4 years or less 65.1%
in 5 years or less 75.8%
in 6 years or less 79.4%
Chapman also strongly encourages students to work/study abroad.

My son is graduating right on time; he is a Business major and never had a problem getting classes.
Chapman has a 4-1-4 schedule and that corresponds to the length of each session. Fall Semester = 4 months & Spring = 4 months. During January the students can take 3 units and it is free (currently the policy) if you are a full time student. In theory one could almost graduate a semester early if they participated in taking classes in during the Interterm.
@Mom613 I wonder you could give more info about your son’s experience with Business major. Are students happy and do they have good job placement? What are the positive and negative parts at Chapman business school?
A kid I help to apply to college just received an acceptance email from Chapman University today. Thanks.
