Oprah Winfrey A(has) the B(distinction of) having promoted the sales C(of more) serious contemporary novels than D(any) talk show host. E(No error)

Opinions on Charles Ives as a composer A(have always been split,) with some listeners regarding him as, B(at best,) an entertaining eccentric, C(while) others lauding him as the D(most influential) composer of his age. E(No error)

2 is C

Should be “with some ___,AND others ”

1 is D. Should be “…than any OTHER talk show host.”

Thankyou for replying
But can you explain the first question?

the phrase “any talk show host” implies Oprah Winfrey herself. How could she have promoted more sales of novels than herself? It’s illogical.

“Any other” makes the comparision more suitable because now you are comparing Oprah Winfrey to another talk show host, not Oprah Winfrey to herself.

What airfreshener said.

That clears things. Thanks
