are the strategies in the grammatix viable? for example, it says skip the question instead of guessing if we do not know the answer. anyone who has taken SAT before by heeding to grammatix's advice? How does it work out then??

If you have NO CLUE, then yes, skip the question. However, if you are able to eliminate one, two, or even three answers that you know are incorrect ... then you can guess. ;)

See, if you don't have any idea, then the chance of a guess being correct is 1/5 as there are 5 options. That means that for every random guess you get right(+1), you get 4 wrong(-0.25x4 = -1) - bringing the total difference down to zero. However, if you eliminate a few options, that improves your odds. For example, let's say you know C and D are incorrect. That only leaves A, B, and E. So, the probability of you getting the correct answer increases to 1/3. So let's say you get one right (+1) and 2 wrong (-0.25x2=-0.50). That brings the total down to +0.5. So yeah ... you get better odds.

What I mean is: Only guess if you can narrow your options down.

lol uttaresh, nice analysis :]
