has anyone received the free hard copy as promised by mr. barrett? it's been two weeks since i ordered my copy and i have yet to receive it. what's even better is that he won't respond to my emails. what garbage.

I have not gotten mine, and it has been a while. I will check how long it has been later. Good point.

I got mine a week and two days later.

I ordered mine a few weeks ago, and Mike emailed me very shortly after and said he would send it out right away. I recieved it just as promised only a few days later. I'm sure there is some explanation to this.

I got mine by priority mail. Must've been less than a week. Strange thing is he's not responding to my emails, either, and he had been. Wonder what he's doing.

hey. is grammatix that good? would it be suitable for a person who's getting mid 600's on each of the three sections? i'm aiming to improve them to 750's. what's so good about grammatix!

I had to bug Mike for a couple of weeks and then finally got it. He was very responsive to my e-mails and said he was having problems with the order fulfillment company. When it arrived the address label had my first, but not my last name!

I believe Mike is honorable and I'm sure you'll get it, but it may not hurt to shoot him an e-mail and let him know if you haven't received it yet.

i have been emailing him over the past few days about this. responses received? zero. i urge everyone who has not received their copy to email mike.

bump for justice

whats grammatix whos mike

a quick forum search would have given you the answer, Mattistotle:

18 days a counting, no hard copy.

This is from the time he replied back to my e-mail saying:
"your name is in our records for the free hard copy."

Hi guys,

Wow. I'm REALLY glad this was brought up. I have no idea what's going on. I'll investigate and post again in a few minutes.

Mike

Hi again,

Okay, here's the deal as closely as I can figure it out. Please read through to the end and we can get all of this fixed today, I think:

Several of your orders were cancelled by our payment processor, 2checkout.com. If this happened to you, you should have received an email from 2CO notifying you of this. This can happen for a variety of reasons, but the most common reason is that the card is registered to a person in country A but used by someone in country B. The easiest way to know if this happened to you is to check your credit card statement, but I know most of you don't have your own credit cards and can't do that. So if you email me at the special address I've set up in my profile (see below) then I'll take care of it.

Two of you asked for refunds. If you process a refund, you're no longer entitled to my SAT advice--that's one of the things you've decided not to pay for. I am NOT saying that there are any hard feelings if you ask for a refund, because there aren't. But once a refund is processed, my professional relationship with a student ends, for obvious reasons. You can't take clothes back to the store for a refund and then still expect to wear them afterwards.

But that probably doesn't cover everybody, and it definitely doesn't explain why I haven't been answering emails. As some of you know, for the last few weeks I've been taking law school exams. During this time I've been getting help with my emails and order fulfillment, so I haven't been as "hands-on" as I normally like to be (although I have been, and will always continue to be, the only person who answers any customer email about test-related questions). Nobody seems to know what happened to the missing emails, but it seems to be a pretty gross miscommunication. I think that for several of them, someone might have seen that an order related to a particular email address was cancelled and then simply deleted the emails associated with that address. Of course, this is the wrong thing to do--you should at least have gotten a response explaining the situation.

So, how am I going to fix all of this? Here's how. I'm done with exams and back to being my obsessively "hands-on" self. I've set up an email address in my profile that will go straight to me. It has no spam filters or anything like that, and no one will pre-read and sort anything in there. If you could take the time to just send me an email with your name, the name on the order, and the address the book should have been sent to, I'll answer everybody's emails myself. I will also print and mail each missing hard copy myself, even though that's fairly more expensive than using our normal printing/shipping company. I'll take care of you guys and set everything right, I promise.

By the way, good for you guys for staying on top of this. Seriously.

Mike

Sounds good, I e-mailed you.

Hi guys,

Sorry to have to bring this up again, but as luck would have it my main email server is down and I haven't had an incoming email since 8:32pm last night (5 may). If you emailed me after that, I haven't received the message. Please try emailing me at my backup address, which has also been posted in my profile. My tech people are working on the server as we speak, and they don't know at this point whether the missing emails will be recoverable or not.

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hate that this is a problem right now, and I'm doing everything I can to stay ahead of it. Thanks for bearing with me.

Mike
