Hi, I realized that I purposefully used incorrect grammar to write my college essay. Ironically, this helps my essay flow better. (For example, starting the sentence with "And", and also using contractions- "I'm" instead of "I am")

Should I correct my grammar, or not..??

It depends. Contractions aren’t necessarily grammatically incorrect and neither is starting a sentence a sentence with and. I would say it varies depending on how formal the essay question is.

<a href=“For%20example,%20starting%20the%20sentence%20with” title=“And”, and also using contractions- “I’m” instead of “I am”>quote

As hahalolk indicated, neither of those practices is ungrammatical. However, contractions are generally unadvisable for this type of writing.

the essay is the largest personal essay question for the common app. I’m writing about the" significant experience" prompt.
