<p>I'm from India and hold a Masters in English Literature. Now, I have been attempting to take the GRE several times (mock tests) and I'm scoring anywhere between 152-156 out of the 170 on it. The quantitative analysis scores are abysmal. I've never attempted standardized tests - and in all honesty, I don't think it embodies the research capabilities I hold. I know, you'll have probably heard a lot about this already... But to apply for a PhD in English Literature program, would only one aspect of my low score (I'm about to give the test five days hence) undermine other aspects of my application? Feel free to judge me, but I don't think one low GRE score should make a school tick off my application without looking at other aspects of it. I am scoring well on TOEFL mock tests, have good LORs, a well researched SOP and Critical Writing sample. Kindly advise. Also, do I bring this "low" GRE score up in my SOP in a line or two?
