Will someone please help me find schools who gives great financial aid located on the east coast?

The schools that give the most generous FA are the hardest ones to get into (lowest admit rates), because hordes of applicants are competing for the same thing

Sarah,

You have a lot of threads going and obviously have a lot of questions. There are a lot of knowledgeable parents on CC who would, I am sure, be happy to help you if we knew more. It might be helpful to make a post describing yourself: GPA weighted and unweighted, class rank, what AP/IB classes you’ve taken out of the ones offered at your school, ECs, anything else that will help us understand how you compare to other applicants… and then tell us what you are looking for in a school: size, location, liberal/conservativeness, party school or not, Greek/sports culture or not… what you’re considering studying… and very importantly your family’s income range (or your EFC if you have run some Net Price Calculators and know that.) Also: are you a URM or first generation?

This can help us see what range of schools you’re competitive for, where you’re likely to get good financial aid, and what might be good fits for you.

In my experience, Vanderbilt, Rochester, Lehigh, and Colgate were generous with aid.

Here is a list of schools that claim to meet 100% of demonstrated need:
http://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/paying-for-college/articles/2014/09/15/colleges-and-universities-that-claim-to-meet-full-financial-need
Almost all of these are very selective private colleges. Somewhat less selective Northeastern schools on the list include:
Bates, Bryn Mawr, Holy Cross, F&M, Mt. Holyoke, Trinity

Here is a CC thread on colleges that provide automatic full tuition merit scholarships:
<a href=“Automatic Full Tuition / Full Ride Scholarships - #286 by BobWallace - Financial Aid and Scholarships - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1348012-automatic-full-tuition-full-ride-scholarships-p20.html
Very few listed colleges are in the Northeast.
Application deadlines for some scholarships may have passed already.

The Kiplinger “best value” pages show need-based aid numbers for ~300 colleges and merit aid numbers for ~200 private colleges.
