I know that Tufts is one of the best schools around with a beautiful location, great faculty, good programs etc.
What I want to know is how reality-based and fun are the people who go there. Somebody wrote in a thread that Tufts' students are yappy and preppy. Coming from Germany, I don't have any experience with the typifying American college students. I wont be able to attend the Sleepover, so could somebody please tell me what the people at Tufts are like? I've really got my heart set on Tufts but would like to know a little more about what to expect from the people I might meet.
Thank you

i visited the campus september of last year and made a point to stop and chat with as many students as i could. from what i could tell, people were incredibly down to earth and friendly. After visiting tons of schools, i felt more comfortable about Tufts' student body than that of any other school. This has a lot to do with why i applied...so many schools have this sort of elitest air, but not tufts. i was thoroughly impressed by the people, but not because they made a point to impress me... they were good kids, and there was a whole lot to talk about over coffee.

I felt the same way as AlergicToMorning when I visited. The kids at Tufts are smart enough to have philosophical and political discussions with, but are down to earth enough to approach about anything. Everyone seems to be relatively laid back. But what really made Tufts stand out from the other 36 colleges I visited during my college search was that the students at Tufts seemed extremely happy overall, far more so (as a whole) than students at other schools.

Also might want to visit www.urbandictionary.com

As per the student body, they're all competitive but also willing to help out.

My daughter goes to BU but has a good friend at Tufts and has spent some time there. We are looking at Tufts for our youngest so we asked big sister to describe Tufts students and she said the one word to describe them is "friendly."
