I am looking for a college with a great theater program that actually allows freshman to be on stage. I've just realized that big schools such as NYU and USC have great theater programs, but they also tend to show major favoritism towards the grads. I don't plan on sweeping stages for 4 years. I also don't want to be forced into a technical school that has an awesome and program. Does anyone know where i should go? Think big city, little school, great program. Please help!!
~I am sooo sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I couldn't figure out where the heck this belonged.

Carnegie Mellon's CFA is as good or better than Tisch. You can find it by going to Top CC and then clicking on the sub-forum after Carnegie Mellon. Only a handful of kids are accepted out of hundreds though.

check out the following:
Skidmore
Bard
Connecticut College
Drew
William and Mary
Susquehanna
Rollins
Muhlenberg
Goucher
George Mason
Columbia C (SC)
Bennington

acceptedalready, do you know if Carnegie Mellon shares stage time w/ undergraduates? I would really appreciate it if you responded.
Thank you Collegehelp, i'll be sure to search those colleges. If any mor come to mind, feel free to email me at nifa034@yahoo.com

I've only frequented the CMU CFA board a few times. I remember that the few kids who are accepted are given full time attention and spend a lot of time practicing and performing.

2 of my friends (freshman) at CFA last year were in 2 different shows and I don't believe they were even entirely IN the drama/musical departments! One thing the students like at Carnegie Mellon are 5 dollar Broadway-quality shows performed by the CFA kids. I'd visit the CFA boards for all your future questions. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/forumdisplay.php?f=546
