How important is it to be in a fraternity at Baylor to get the most out of social activities, weekend fun & intramural sports?
My niece works there. She said until early 2000’s it used to be really important for social life but school is more diverse now, lots of internationals, merit- scholars and Asian-Americans come due to good pre-Med track / merit scholarships and school has dozens of student organizations and events. It’s not at all necessary to go Greek, you can have a very robust social life without being a football enthusiast or going Greek.
@dijbmac Are you against going greek or is it due to the costs involved?
Also, is it true that students must attend chapel every week?
Yes, you must complete a semester of Chapel.
Everyone should sample some theology, even if only to understand religions or to be able to argue against them. You can’t accept or reject something without some analysis. All interesting people acquire broad range of knowledge.
@Junebug100 not against it, but want to avoid a university where being in a fraternity is an emphasis. Want to focus on club golf, intramurals, clubs, religion etc.
2 semesters of chapel are required.
