I don't know anything about Greek life, but now that I got into USC and am going there, I found out that it's a big deal on campus.

I like to party but I'm not so sure if I would fit that lifestyle. I really don't know anything about it, and it seems kind of scary. I am a guy so I would be joining a fraternity.

If you don't go greek does that hurt your college experience? I just don't really get the point of joining or not joining.

Personally I use to be kind of skeptical about the Greek system, but once I experienced what USC’s was like, I must say that being a part of the Greek system seems like something awesome to be a part of at SC. Its a great thing that forces you to meet new people and the partys are a blast! Definitely recommend it. My buddy at SC loves it and if I get into SC this year as a transfer then I will definitely be rushing.

Com,

Greek life is just one of many choices at SC. Only about 17% of the students belong to the NPC or IFC Greek chapters you think of as sororities or fraternities. There are other Greek letter service or ethnic groups. It is certainly possible to have a full social life at the university outside the row.

As you can see over 80% of the students are not part of the Greek system. There are many clubs and organizations to fit your interests. At orientation there will be booths set up from various organizations. Members will be happy to meet you and tell what their group has to offer.

I’m not involved in Greek life, but from what I’ve seen through my friends it’s a good way to meet people, make friends, and for guys, have access to parties. I considered it, but it’s rather expensive, even with cheaper housing down the road.

So in order to go to parties, guys have to be in a fraternity? Are there very many non-Greek parties? Do you have to rush freshmen year, or can you wait and rush later?
