Greek Life

What is the fraternity/sorority scene like at Lehigh? Is the Greek system a major part of the social scene? if a current student could shed some light on the subject that would be great

Greek life at Lehigh is great. It is pretty much the social scene. For the most part non-greek people can go to parties if they’re friends with guys in frats, but some nights there will be few options because there are a lot of closed parties and date parties, formals, etc.

If you’re at guy there will likely be at least 1 house you can see yourself in because there are so many. For girls it’s a little harder because there are fewer options (only 8 sororities) but most girls that go through rush find a house that fits them.

I would at suggest at least going through rush (especially if you’re a guy, they spoil you rotten with nice dinners, trips to sports games and Philly/NYC, etc) to see what it’s like, if you decide it’s not for you then at least you tried it out.

The party scene has calmed down a lot in that past few years but it’s still a lot of fun, if you want to have a real social life at Lehigh joining a house or being friends with a lot of people in houses is your best bet.
