Green, liberal, hippie Universities?

Whittier does not sound like a match. But, I don’t know it personally.

Lots of hippies in Boyle Heights–not.

On the east coast, definitely Tufts. At the information session they literally shouted from the stage " if you aren’t concerned about income inequality, clean water, gender and racial discrimination, equal access, LGBTQA…you don’t belong here." We loved it.

Also Vassar - some guys playing guitar under a tree got up and followed our tour group around for a while.

I always think it is funny to see someone looking for a liberal college. The vast majority are liberal colleges. Pick at random and you will be at home. Unless you go to an overtly Conservative school like Liberty or Hillsdale, you will be at home.

Warren Wilson?

Marlboro college in Vermont - home of Fielding Banjos https://www.marlboro.edu/

What’s a hippie?

In Florida, Eckerd College and New College.

Willamette, U of Puget Sound, College of the Atlantic, Marlboro, Warren Wilson outside Asheville, NC, UNC Asheville, New College of Florida, Hendrix in Arkansas. Some will give you merit aid with your stats.

@SlackerMomMD I would add Appalachian State to your list.

I never thought of Appalachian State as hippie. Outdoorsy but not hippie or crunchy granola. I tend to think “Business” and “Hotel Management” when I hear App State, so I guess that’s why I don’t think liberal, hippie… I could be wrong.

SUNY New Paltz, in NY’s Hudson Valley, started as a teachers’ college. It’s not far from Woodstock or Bethel, is close to the mountains and rivers (so a great place for hiking and kayaking), and seems to attract a fair number of the children and grandchildren of the Flower Children.

Colorado College? Oberlin
