<p>Great post about Brandeis Biochemistry Prof Greg Petsko who is publicly defending the value of the Humanities, which are being enhanced at Brandeis but cut back at other schools, most prominently SUNY Albany:</p>

<p>The full letter was so well written and worth the time it took to read it. </p>

<p>I recently saw the president of Harvard interviewed on television. She was talking about their push to promote the Humanities to the level of respect they deserve. It is certainly a conversation worth having. Sciences are critical going forward, but even scientists need to be able to think critically and abstractly, and also communicate effectively.</p>
