The website has improved since last year - D was really turned off by it early Junior year when doing preliminary research on schools from which she’d received mail. They’ve made it a bit friendlier, but still inadequate. We are on the west coast and it would take as long to get to Grinnell for a visit as it would take to visit Florida! I was actually surprised by how friendly the admissions people are on the phone because the web site creates a very different first impression. D is applying and I’m still trying to figure out how to get her there for a visit.

The quality of Grinnell’s website has long been a source of frustration for alums and current students, as well as prospective families. I know that President Kington, who has been in office just 18 months, shares that concern. He just appointed the college’s first VP for communications, and my guess is that you will see vast improvement in the website fairly quickly.
