Waitlisted (and I didn’t get an email to check my portal.)

waitlisted…this is the fourth waitlist I got

I got in ( international ).However, I logged in to the financial aid portal included in the acceptance email, but I didn’t find any message about the award , is anyone experiencing similar issues?

@lukaINT click on menu and then view/accept awards

I can’t find anything on the portal !

waitlisted. Does anyone know how many do they put on waitlist and how many of them get admitted? just to know how much hope to put

@Adel291 http://web.grinnell.edu/institutionalresearch/webdocs/GC_CDS_1718.pdf

there’s a link regarding the profile of the class of 2021. 534 people chose to accept a place on the waiting list, and 12 people were admitted.

According to the 2016-2107 Common Data Set, 1032 were offered a place on the waitlist, 395 accepted a spot, and then 97 were admitted. The previous year, only 18 were admitted through the waitlist with similar numbers being offered and accepting a spot on the waitlist.

@Adel291 found last years data on Collegedata:

Students Offered Wait List 1,032
Students Accepting Wait List Position 395
Students Admitted From Wait List 97

Can’t swear by it’s accuracy. Hope that helps.

My D got in!

I would really love to hear that the higher percentage, nearly 25%, is the right one. However, @kalons got the file from the College’s website. I really don’t know what to do. Let’s hope for the best to happen.

All of these numbers are from the college’s website. They just range from the Class of 2019-2021. It all depends on how many accepted students decide to enroll, which varies from year to year and therefore hard to predict. I don’t know what I’m going to do either, but getting off the waitlist of any school is just a matter of chance and luck.

@Adel291 cornellian and classy posted the correct stats … for the class of 2020. they under-enrolled that year (2020) which is why the waitlist acceptance rate was so high, but they overenrolled this year (2021) which is why the waitlist acceptance rate was so low. please, please, please don’t lose hope though. i’m sending all my best wishes!

@kalons thank you for the explanation. I’ll just wait for the rest of the colleges to respond and see where it takes me.

Accepted! No email but the update was on portal

Rejected.

Accepted! with a $40K scholarship!!!

DS got in with Founders.

Wait, Founder’s scholarship is the lowest, right? Why would they say it’s the “highest honor” they can give to an incoming freshman? Who’s getting the Dean’s and President’s scholarships?
