muchdua- did you try logging onto the financial aid portion of the tracking website?

freckleback-thanks for your response, I still feel a bit hopeful. The anxiety of the past couple weeks is getting to me. I tried the financial aid portion, I got the A1 response.

muchdua- how do you feel about the rest of your app?

Freckleback-I feel it’s pretty decent. My stats-Phi Thetha Kappa, GPA 3.65, Volunteer+Team Leader for New York Cares. My essay was pretty good, I put in a lot of effort into it. My high school credentials are a bit off, mostly B’s, C’s and D’s. I did high school oversea’s so I’m assuming my high school gpa would be around 2.6-3.0, not sure. Aaagh I did notice a minor typo on my application though:/-stress of midterms and submitting the application on time.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how The New School is viewed? I am a transfer applicant from the The New School.

amgang! i think that we have met! i won’t blow your cover on the forum- but did you take the gsae during november?

I did. I took the gsae this past Saurday, the 19th. Were you there as well?

yes!!! i sat across from you!

Which one of the three?

Congrats again on your acceptance! That was fast!

In the fist two sections I left a couple of the questions unanswered. Otherwise I felt pretty good about it, but I am concerned that the unanswered questions might have a serious impact.

Blondish girl. The freckly one. I only answered what I was 100% sure of… Was worried about being penalized for leaving questions unanswered as well… I probably left 1 or 2 unanswered in each section…

Hi, everyone. I had applied for Fall and was pushed to Spring. I want to know if they are still sending out acceptance or denied letters?
Congrats to those who have been accepted.

Any good news out there? Anyone receive a nice wake up call?

I’m in!!! How bout u adamag? Anyone have news about financial aid packages?

Congrats Freckleback! AMGAMG, I’m still waiting. Admissions said I should know by Friday. Anyone heard anything yet? Freckleback would you mind sharing your stats?

Silence on my side.

Hello. I can tell you my story, and hopefully it will help. I was told by telephone of my acceptance for the Spring 2012 semester the Monday before Thanksgiving. Nine days later I received information on which of my courses of mine transferred or not. I am still currently waiting for my financial aid award information (the only thing keeping me thus far from accepting).

I applied online at the end of October, had terrible high school grades and college grades originally. I did really well when I went back to school a little older and must’ve done well on the General Studies Admissions Exam, which I had to take because I took the SAT so long ago. I had transcripts from 5 schools sent over, and it was my first time applying to GS.

I’m wondering if anyone has heard about their financial aid packages yet? How long after one is accepted does one hear about their financial aid awards?

Here’s my story… Horrible student in high school- really rough situation at home… Worked my way up the blue-collar ladder of employment… Went back to school 3 years ago and did pretty well. 3.9… Honors courses and various awards and extra curricular activities… Leadership positions at school… I think the strength of my application was discussing how the hardship if my past influenced my goals for the future… It was a pretty gritty story but entirely true… Writing the essay was such a challenge and I was very concerned that I had put too much out there… Within a day of taking the gsae, I was accepted…

I haven’t received a credit evaluation or financial aid package… Still waiting to see what is offered. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to take out any private loans…

::silence:: only silence…

but to be fair- for me- the committee requested another document (transcript) that they only received last week… so they may be actually reviewing it this week… so, soon?

I have dreams about receiving an acceptance letter. I .dream. about it- and in the dream I don’t actually open the package. I just stare at it. In a “grateful-awestruck” kind of way. Then I lie down on the floor. ::going off to google post bac pre med spring 2012 admissions things:: Good Luck to all of those still waiting!

I too am still waiting. They received all of my materials by October 30th, but when I called yesterday to inquire about my status I was told I would hear within two weeks. /sigh
