Hi!

I'm a high school junior interested in the Honors Law Admission Program.

Have any of you been accepted into this program or are already a part of this program?

If so, could you please post your stats and your experience thus far?

Thanks! :)

Sunshine, I indicated that I was interested in pre-law before coming to UR back in the fall of '01. I scored a 33 on the ACT (roughly 1480/1600 SAT), went to a strong school, had okay grades and strong EC's and was admitted to the program. If I recall, I had to graduate with a 3.5 or 3.25 to gain admittance. I had a bit too much fun in college for that, but even then, I decided against going to law school and focusing on business instead. I'm not sure about what the cutoff is for this, perhaps URAdmissions can be of better service.

Hi Miss Sunshine--

Honors Law requires you to have a 1350 combined score (critical reading + math) on the SAT or a 30 composite on the ACT. If you have those scores and you are admitted as an undergraduate student (having those scores is not a guarantee of admission as an undergraduate student), participation in Honors Law is automatically granted. Once you are at UR, you have to earn a 3.5 cumulative GPA in any major of your choice by the end of the fall of your senior year and have no honor code or other serious character issues to be admitted to Richmond Law. The LSAT is not required BUT if you take the LSAT, you have to score above the median for the prior year's entering class to be guaranteed admission.

Feel free to post other questions and I'll be happy to try to help you sort through your choices! I'm glad you are interested in UR!
