There was a thread a while ago that discussed the merits (or lack thereof) of The Gurgling Cod. As a reluctant New England transplant, I have kept my subscription to Yankee Magazine. I was just thumbing through the issue that came yesterday and what do I find? An article devoted to said piece of art!!

My parents had one and the grand kids loved that thing. They would all laugh like hyenas every single time. We looked for it when we cleaned out my parents’ condo but I think they gave it away to a friend who had a new batch of grandchildren.

I love the Gurgling Cod. It is my go-to gift, especially for “non-traditional” weddings.
Too funny! I had never heard of this until we visited my husband’s sister in Daytona Beach recently. She had five or six already, and said she wanted another one of a certain color. Since she had hosted us for a week and let us use her car for a second week, I went online immediately and ordered it for her. 
Literally never heard of this before!

Huh, I had no idea this was a “thing” and got one as a gift back when we were married I think.
Here is mine, who has a front and center spot in my China cabinet. We use it any time we have company for dinner.
