GW vs. U of Michigan for Political Science/Government

My son thinks he may want to attend law school eventually. He can't decide between these two schools for undergraduate study. Loves Washington DC and opportunities for good internships, but also likes aspects of Michigan as well. Any thoughts?

By the way, cost is not a factor. He is OOS for Michigan.

I studied Accounting in undergrad, became a CPA, worked a few years, then went to law school, took bar, etc..., beacme an Attorney. I can tell you firsthand that the law school was filled with kids from very varied backgrounds.... I don't think law schools are really all too interested in what one studies in undergrad ( assuming it is not physical education or the like ). The key is to do well in undergrad and also on the LSAT (if they still give them ). Having practiced trial law for 20+ years, I can honestly tell you that in all my years in the courtroom, the issue of my undergrad or even law school never came up except possibly during dinners or drinks after work - -- and then it is usually "..do you know so and so, he went to your law school.."
Can't go wrong between DC and UMich..both fine schools...do whatever feels best, not where you think your son should go.
