Did everyone get an email from GW asking us if we’d like to still be on the wait list?

I did

So instead of having little to no chance to get in by the end of the month, we can have little to no chance to get in by the end of the summer. Yay!

are you gonna stay on the waitlist?

I decided to stay on the waitlist because my heart is still set on GWU. But honestly if we have to wait till summer does that mean our chances are even slimmer now ? At least we didn’t get rejected which means GW sees something in us.

Did GW do the summer waitlist thing last year as well ? I mean this seems a bit ridiculous, waiting till May fine whatever, but till the end of summer? That seems crazy !

I don’t think they did this last year. They just rejected everyone who didn’t get a call on may 31st

Why do you think they did it this year?

Whatever the reason is hopefully it works out in our favor. By some miracle I’m hoping that they tell me mid June because the waiting is getting to me. I just want to know if I’m in or not so that I can move on with my life. And why are they making us wait longer anyway ? By MAY 1ST all applicants have to let their colleges know if they are attending or not. So GW should know by now who’s coming and who isn’t .

Well, basically there are two things I can think of.

One is the transfer pool, which just received their decisions today. While the class size of Freshman would obviously not be impacted by the pool, the amount of financial aid money they have would be. Its possible that they want to accept us, but they know that they cannot give us the money we’d need to attend as of right now.

Another is the wait-lists of other schools that are higher up than GW. Vassar’s waiting list for example let some people off in August, which would in turn open up a spot at GW if the student had been enrolled there.

There is of course option number three as well. Maybe GW just doesn’t want to get lonely over the summer, and would prefer to have us wait listed students pestering them with updates and questions to keep them company.

Yeah, I got the same email and agree to the financial aid reasoning. I accepted to stay on the list but to wait more is just so

GW is worth the wait!

so what college did you guys put your deposits in?

I put in for Illinois

I put mine in for Hunter College and if you thought waiting for GW to respond back was bad just try having to deal with the CUNY system lol

I put in for Saint Peters University.

Has anyone heard anything back yet ?
