How's GW's social life? Are there a lot of parties? How about frats and sororities? Are they good at football or any other division level sports? How's the campus atmosphere? And how's DC compared to Boston or other college cities/states? Is GW belong to preppy schools? Do the students study hard?(although this one is pertaining to the academic area) Thank you.

the boys basketball team is pretty good. they are even ranked.

Gw and G-town have great social lifes- their are so many bars and clubs to go too, many sophmores/jrs/seniors live in colleges townhouses in the city

I love the social life here - but like any school, the experience is what you make it.

You mentioned football - GW hasn't had a team since the 1960s (it's hard when you're a city school with no field space). However, the school gets pretty pumped up about it's basketball.

About 10-12% of the students become involved in greek life, but I'd say about 60-70% of the students attend greek parties. They're certainly there if you want them.

Coming from Boston, I feel more at home in DC that I would have in NYC. Just the little things, like the buildings being shorter, and the open space here and there. It's certainly not a college town of the same degree as Boston though, since DC is home to significantly less colleges.

How hard students study depends on the student, but the academics are usually pretty rigorous (I say usually, because there are clearly easier classes than others), so it's very rare to find the libraries lacking in students. I think most students here put studying as their top priority.

GW has a preppy/jappy reputation, but to be honest there are all types of kids here. The majority of students rock jeans and a t-shirt everyday - I don't know what catergory you would place that in.

If you have any other questions - let me know.
