I have a B.Sc. of Hotel Management from an accredited college, 1990, worked as a General Manager for a first class down-town hotel for 5 years, Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) from AH&LA 1992, immigrated to US at 1995, certified Microsoft 1997, certified Cisco 1999, certified MsSQL 2002, earned US citizenship 2003, have had Slackware Linux on my desktop since 1997, Worked for AT&T Alliance Channel as a Project Manager for 9 years until 2005, took classes in Finance at University of Wisconsin 2006, and now I'm taking classes of CS on line at Harvard Extension School. I'm studying at the same time for certain gaming industry certificates, and getting ready for my GMAT. It is very hard, especially that I'm 43, a philanthropist, with wife and kids, in addition to that my job (Business Analyst at a Mega Casino) is a non-forgiving and stress stamped.

My question is: With all the negative words being said about Harvard Extension School (I can see how hard the classes are in the first place), is it worth it to run after A.L.M. in CS from HES? I am studying next to regularly and legacy admitted students from GSAS, MIT, and FAS, with teachers and professors that teach the same regular program, yet I am looked at as "inferior" for unknown reasons.

In other words, would I have to engage in this non-yielding, superficial-elitist, non-fruitful debate of how good or bad Extension School is on regular basis post graduation? I honestly have no time for such debates, and feel a little bit overwhelmed about it. Any other school on line would be less money, and people would just remember that it is "just another graduate degree", and move on to more important things, like getting the job done. I cannot stay away from my children, put my career on hold, and go in debt for 2 years, to pursue a regular MBA or ME or MBM. But I do not want a HES degree to turn from a stepping stone to a set back.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
